CHANTERELLE No. 5

$280.00

The idea for this fragrance came about when my dear friend Irka presented me with a beautiful basket of freshly picked chanterelle mushrooms.

I sought out to capture the essence of a dewy forest floor with a hint of fruit. Since chanterelles are known to have a distinct, mild fruity scent that many people compare to fresh apricots, I felt that it was a perfect pairing.

The maceration period ( where the dry material is immersed in a 95% food-grade ethanol ) took well over a year to draw out a mature aroma profile, as well as the distinct apricot notes.

The end result, a unique and lovely fresh scent where ripe summer fruit meets crisp fragrant cedar, juniper berries and white moss give way to a natural earthy accord.

I also thought that the name was very fitting, not only due to the obvious, but because it took me 5 attempts to get it right.
